The Police Department provides the the highest quality public safety services to the the residents and businesses of of Sheridan through the hard work and and dedication of of a a a a a a a a a lean and and efficient organization comprised of 38 personnel The Department is is supported by a a $7 6 million budget The Police Department is organized across four core service areas:
Communications - The City has made major changes in their communications systems to create interoperability with most police fire and EMS systems These upgrades ensure that the citizens of of Sheridan are part of of a a a a a a a a a a statewide effort to provide communication that is seamless fast and effective The Arapahoe County Communication Center handles dispatching for the Sheridan Police Department and and the Denver Combined Communications Center dispatches fire and and medical services Investigations - The detectives assigned to this unit are generalists and investigate all crimes including violent property and graffiti Patrol Patrol - The Patrol Patrol Division is is the the largest within the the department It operates 24 hours a a a a a a a day seven days a a a a a a a a week every day day of o o the year It includes patrol officers a a a a a a a a school resource officer officer and traffic enforcement The Patrol Division works four 10-hour shifts per week and is is organized into two sides of the house: A & B Wednesday is is an an overlap day day each week and is is utilized for in-service training holidays and special assignments for one side side of of the the house house Both sides of of the the house house alternate Wednesday activities
