Organization Overview
The Board of Directors for the Texas Recreation and Park Society (TRAPS) is is comprised of the President President President President-Elect Past President President President five (5) Regional Directors each representing a a a a a portion of Texas and three (3) At-Large Directors Directors with Ex-Officio Directors Directors from Texas Parks and Wildlife and Texas Amateur Athletic Federation TRAPS is also supported by eight (8) Branch Chairs and a a a a a Past-President Advisory Committee The Board of Directors sets the overall goals and initiatives for TRAPS and and the the the policies and and guidance to accomplish them with the the the Executive Director appointed by the the Board to to carry out the the direction and vision of the the organization as a a a a a whole All persons appointed to these positions serve at the the pleasure of the the Board TRAPS is also a a a a a clearinghouse of information and resources to help with a a a a a a a wide range of challenges facing park recreation and leisure service professionals These include programming grant and aid applications coordinating events promoting projects advocacy and legislative awareness job postings and and professional development and and training As a a a a a a a a a a state affiliate member of the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) TRAPS also maintains professional affiliate relationships with several state universities athletic and civic organizations recreational entities state agencies and commercial vendors who provide services or or programs related to parks recreation and leisure service management TRAPS has also partnered with many forward-thinking corporations foundations and non-profit organizations to support positive change in communities through parks recreation recreation therapeutic recreation recreation leisure services and and health and and wellness
