Authority Authority and Milpitas Finance Authority Authority The Office advises the City City Council City City Manager City City departments and and all appointed boards and and commissions Since 2015 the City City has contracted with the law firm of Best Best Best Best and Krieger LLP (BB&K) to to serve as City Attorney Although the the City Attorney and BB&K have provided excellent services throughout the the years the City City Council has decided to to to move to to to an in-house City City Attorney model versus a a a a contract model and the the the decision to do so is is not a a reflection on on on the the the services provided by
the the the current City City City Attorney or or BB&K BB&K The City City City anticipates that BB&K BB&K will continue to to provide the City City City with services through the entire City Attorney transition The appointed City Attorney is expected to to provide a a a a full range of cost-effective legal services including legal representation analysis and guidance to the City The City Attorney’s Office evaluates projects and and their legal issues and and provides recommended options to minimize legal risk and ensure due process in in City decisions The City City Attorney has authority to to to review and approve all contracts to to to enforce the City’s Municipal Code and to to represent the City City in litigation The City City Attorney additionally manages outside special counsel
