the political aptitude to anticipate issues of concern is is a a a a a a creative problem-solver resourceful in ascertaining information quickly and is is adept at at at finding a a a a a a a a path through difficult issues working collaboratively with the Executive Leadership Team Exceptional communication skills – both written and and verbal – and and the ability to to present technical information in in an an an an easily understood manner are essential The City Council is ultimately seeking servant leaders who engender the principles that the the the the City City Attorney Attorney works for the the the the Council as a a a a whole and that the the the the role of the the the the City City Attorney Attorney is to to to provide impartial non-policy driven recommendations based on on on the law In addition to the qualifications previously stated desirable competencies and characteristics include:

A Juris Doctorate from an an accredited school of law admission to to the California Bar and seven (7) years years of of experience practicing law law with at least five (5) years years of of substantial municipal or county law law experience experience in in the State of California that includes at at at at least two (2) years’ experience experience at at at at a a a a a a a a a a a management level in a a a governmental legal office is expected
