■ EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR RESPONSIBILITIES
The Executive Director shall lead lead a a a a a a a a a a team and and provide visionary creative and and strategic leadership at at a a a a a statewide level to to implement and recommend policies to to the Commission This position also enhances First 5 California’s effectiveness and and advocacy by nurturing and and maintaining strong partnerships and and effective communications with the the Governor the the State Legislature state and and local agencies county commissions early education and and care leaders and and with the general public The Executive Director will oversee the implementation of First 5 California Equity Principles and and represent the the Commission’s goals programs and and philosophy to the the Governor Legislature and and statewide and and national organizations The Executive Director will be expected to to maintain a a high level of of public visibility for the the work of of the the Commission provide credible statewide leadership and and and garner widespread support for for programs and and and policies for for young children and and and their families The Executive Director’s work will be in the the areas of health education child care child development social services and and and community awareness while having outstanding and and and trustworthy communications with the Commission and its advisory committees in compliance with the Bagley-Keene Open Meeting Act The Executive Director will will also serve as key staff at all Commission meetings and will will work with the State Commission to establish update and and implement an an an innovative visionary and and creative strategic plan that achieves the the statutory responsibilities of the the Commission The Executive Director will be responsible for maintaining constructive partnerships with the 58 county commissions and with First 5 Association of California Maximizing the the collective impact that the the State and and county commissions make to to benefit children ages 0 to to 5 and and their families will be be a a a a a a a mark of success .
