The Executive Assistant is is is an an an experienced and proven administrative professional that has police administration or government experience and and is is flexible adaptable confidential and and confident They are adept at at at anticipating needs generating options and implementing solutions to to ascertain that all aspects of of the Chief’s schedule and coordination of of day-to- day office operations are covered properly May serve as staff support for other department management staff as needed and and may have budget preparation and and administration responsibility The ideal candidate will anticipate the the needs of the the Chief and and his/her management team the incumbent will routinely handle highly confidential and and sensitive information while maintaining the the utmost discretion and have the the ability to make sound decisions with minimal supervision and tact The new Executive Assistant must possess superior time management and and professional communication skills including both written and and verbal communications be able to independently prioritize and complete a a a a a a broad range of assignments with competing deadlines A problem-solving customer service focus can-do attitude and and strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and and maintain effective relationships with co-workers management community members and representatives of public are key requirements for this position Education and Experience
Any combination of education and experience that would provide the required knowledge skills and abilities necessary for an an an Executive Assistant A A typical way of of obtaining the the required qualifications is to possess the the equivalent of of five (5) years of significant directly related and and progressive administrative and and clerical support experience performing increasingly complex and and highly responsible and and confidential office and administrative support work which involved at at least two (2) years supporting one one or or or more managers and included at least one one (1) year year of experience in in a a a a a a a supervisory level and an an associate degree Police administration or or government experience is highly desirable License/Certificate:
Possession of of a a a a a a valid California Driver License Class C C C or or or higher prior to date of of appointment
