■ Position Overview
The Chief of of of MAST serves as a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a senior manager manager reporting to the the the the Assistant General Manager of of of Operations manager manager within the the the the the Park Park District District and and and provides provides direction for the the the the the maintenance of of of of of the the the the the Park Park District’s facilities and and and equipment The Chief of of of MAST provides provides direct direct management oversight of of of the the the the the Maintenance and and and SkilledTrades SkilledTrades Department under the the Operations Division which includes SkilledTrades SkilledTrades Fleet Roads &Trails Water Utility Maintenance Sanitation Services and and and Recycling This person manages a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a $33 million budget budget including both operating and and and and project budgets and and and and has five direct reports within a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a total workforce of of of of 80 employees employees In addition to to trade workers the Chief Chief of of of of of MAST MAST also supervises a a a a a a a a a a a a a a small team of of of of of analysts and and and office support employees employees The Chief Chief of of of of of MAST:
» » Manages the Park District’s work request processing system
» » » Maintains real property records for assessment and planning purposes
» » » Manages contracts for third party repair contractors and associated projects
» » » Develops budget proposals for both capital and operating expenses
» » » Develops the Park District’s deferred maintenance program » » Assists with the planning of new parks and and facilities by forecasting additional costs for for maintenance repair and vehicles
» Works collaboratively with external agencies and community interest groups
