        Story 284
                                                       A Drought
It was the sad TRUTH, but it was drier than VERMOUTH. It happened
first in PLYMOUTH and FALMOUTH, and then in the south of the County
Louth. There was a drought. Ten hundred folks died with a dried-up
               mouth.
        Story 285
                                                              An Evil Power
The man was dour. The only normal thing he did was give the trees
in his bower a daily shower. At passers-by he would glower or lower,
        as they would cower.
At night he'd fry snakes in flour, and then devour them at the midnight hour.
Some people say they could sense the devil's power.
        Story 286
                                                 Impossible to Rouse
All night long some guys and gals like to browse, and then in the morn
               they're impossible to rouse.
Not until noon do they put on shirt or blouse, call their pals, or start
               to unhouse.
Idleness they don't actually espouse, but instead of work, they
               would much rather carouse.
