The Nerd

Mark Byrd did not know the sound heard from the sheep herd. As a

matter of fact, he could not spell a single word.

He did not know that milk has wheys and curd. He could not even tell a

plane from a bird, nor first base from third.

Consequently, his classmates would call him “ The Nerd.” And now,

today, Byrd is a farmhand picking up, turd!

Murph

In the 12 century England,

There lived a man whose name was Murph,

Now just because he was a serf,

His highness the king called him “ scurf,”

Which was wrong,

For all day long,

He fished the seas riding the surf,

Or plowed the fields tilling the turf.
