Story 16
Thrown in the County Tank
In horror people shrank as two men robbed the National Bank. One
took the money while the other guarded the flank.
A witness whom we thank for being so frank said, “one was lank and the
other a tank. And phew! They were rank! I mean to say, they stank!”
Eventually hound dogs found the two, named Frank and Hank, hiding
along a river bank in a cave dingy and dank.
In court, Frank said that it was merely a silly prank, that his gun fired
merely a blank, and that the money is insured by the bank.
The jury did not think this was a prank, silly or otherwise, and tossed
the two in the county tank.
