Is It Love?

They fell in love. She kissed him and called him her “ turtle-dove.” By

and by, she convinced him that marriage would fit him like a glove. But

before he could ponder the consequences thereof, she gave him a

shove, to vow to the Lord above.

This is truly the happiest day of your life!

Oh! Nobody told me yet!

Change: turtle-dove for turtledove.

Story 310

The Lull before the Storm

To cull his thoughts, and mull over a certain problem, the man paddled

his scull to sea. However, all he could see, was an ever-present gull - a

seagull, the blue sky, and the blue sea.

Later the sea died down, followed by a lull. This had the poor guy -

gulled. He thought that the rest of the day would be dull.

But to his great surprise, a storm followed the lull. It battered the

boat's hull, and shattered his thick skull.
