Story 43
A Whale of a Tale
Gail and Dale went to the vale, or call it a
dale, to gather heads of kale. There they
drank so much ale, that their vigor soon
started to fail, and their color turned pale.
Then, believe it or not, they said they saw a
sailfish sailing in a gale, that was bigger than
Moby Dick, or any other whale.
Story 44
To Jail
Out of season Abigail shot a quail and a long-necked rail. She
also stole some U. S. mail.
Officer Bale cried out, "We must nail this female. We must put a
tail on her trail."
Eventually they caught her shoplifting goods in a lunch pail. She
pleaded, "Your Honor, a cold prison will make my health fail, for I
am already so frail."
The judge replied, "Weep as you will Abigail, I will not lower your
bail. You will remain in my jail!"
