Story 51
The Habit of the Saint
There once lived a saint, who daily showed self-restraint. She could
tolerate the word ain't, but at hearing a cuss word she would nearly
faint.
Holy images she would often paint. And she prayed for those whose
hearts were faint.
Her guard, not even the devil could feint; therefore, her virtue no
blemish could taint.
Story 52
Don't Jape the Ape
Despite the sign that read, “ DON'T Jape The Ape,” this young fool,
monkeyed the ape, taunting him with a tasty crepe, striking him with a
grape.
Quite angered, the ape yanked his bars plump out of shape, and caught
the boy trying to escape.
With mouths agape, the frightened crowd watched as the ape
convincingly settled the scrape.
1. Jape means to tease.
