                                                   Misunderstood?

"Sir, could you put some wood into my car's hood ?" asked the woman Mrs. Wood.

"Certainly, Ma'am, handling wood is my livelihood." he said.

"Well . . . then . . . why don't you?" barked Mrs. Wood in apt womanhood. He

replied, "Do you mean could, or do you mean would ?"

"EXCUSE ME!" she shouted "I DO MEAN WOULD !"

"Oh!" he responded, "I would, and as I said I could, but I don't think I really

should. You see, your engine is already in your hood !

         At this she screamed,

"AT ONCE, SILLY BOY, STOP THE FOOLHARDIHOOD!

I MEAN MY TRUNK AND NOT MY HOOD !

DO I MAKE MYSELF C-L-E-A-R-L-Y UNDERSTOOD?"
