Debutante Naomi Denise Floyd
Miss Naomi Denise Floyd, daughter of Dr. Jon Wallace and Anjuelle Denise Floyd, is presented by her
father. Naomi is a senior at Tilden Preparatory School in Albany and has completed 14 units of college
classes at Berkeley City College where she holds a 3.7 GPA. She is the third in her family to participate in
the Oakland Bay Area Links Cotillion, preceded by her sisters, Samantha in 2004 and Meredyth in 2010.
Naomi is a talented musician having played the cello since the age of 5 and is Principal Player in the 2 cello

section of the Berkeley Youth Chamber Orchestra under the Direction of Rem Djemilev. In 2015 Naomi journeyed
to Spain with Father Leo Edgerly of the Corpus Christi Parish and sang with the Parish Choir under the direction
of Joseph Hebert. An avid painter, Naomi’s paintings were displayed in the 2015 and 2016 Annual Art of Living
Black Exhibition held at the Richmond Art Center. Her painting, Connected, was included in the 20 Anniversary

Art of Living Black Booklet of Paintings-January 2016 and was also chosen for display in the 2016 “Black Love”
Exhibition at the Women’s Cancer Resource Center, Oakland. As a 12-year member of the Oakland Bay Area
Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc., Naomi participates in numerous community service activities. At the
2016 Far West Region Teen Conference, she was the only female contestant to compete in the Oratorical Contest
where she proudly earned 1 Place in Division II. Naomi will attend SF State University in spring 2017 and major

in Africana Studies with minors communications and economics. She plans to become a psychotherapist.
