Words fail to describe ALL the love we have for YOU!!! Baby you are such a joyful gift that God has truly
blessed us with. You have become a beacon of light for all to follow. Your loving spirit, inner strength, relentless
determination, self-discipline, pure humbleness and intelligence beyond measure are priceless. Now it is time
for you to spread your wings, our beautiful butterfly, find your own life’s garden of flowers, smell the sweet
nectar and live life like there is no tomorrow.

From the minute you were born to this very second you have brought us joy and pride. You were a delightful
child who had become a lovely young lady. Everything about you from your brain to your sweet disposition to
your athleticism makes us so very proud to be your grandparents. Your future is nothing but bright. Enjoy and
explore the world and never stop being the wonderful woman you are.

Debutante Layla Simone Scott
Miss Layla Simone Scott , daughter of Alisa Jones and Lyle Scott, is being presented by her grandfather, Alonzo
Holmes. She is a senior at Bishop O’Dowd High School, is a member of the National Society of High School
Scholars, the Philanthropy Committee, an Associate Executive Council member of the Black Student Union, and
the Head Fellow of Sisters of Success. As the Senior Class Publicist, Layla is the only African-American, out of a
class of 300 seniors to serve on school’s class council. Layla has played basketball since she was five years old, has
played on various AAU Teams and was selected as an elite player on numerous travel teams. As a freshman and
sophomore, Layla was appointed team captain for the Bishop O’Dowd junior varsity women’s basketball team.
And now plays on the Varsity Women’s Basketball Team. Layla has an exceptional leadership skills and a tenacious
work ethic. She plans to continue pursuing her basketball career and educational goals at one of her top college
choices: De Paul University, UC Irvine, California State, Long Beach State, Howard University or Tennessee State.
She plans to major in Biology and Psychology to become a Physical Therapist focusing on injured athletics.
