Originally stationed in the CFA in Ballarat, Gary
then moved to Boronia, Scoresby, Greenvale,
Caroline Springs back to Greenvale and then
to Sunbury where he has been since 2007.
“The job entails many areas of service to the
community and environment. It involves fire
and non-fire events”, said Gary.
“We have now added EMR – emergency
medical response to code zero calls. We are
paged to code zero call events along with the
Ambulance service”.
“My role can deal with anything to do with the
respiratory system. E.g., difficult breathing,
heart attacks, drowning’s or suicides. Each day
is never the same”.
Gary experienced six years at the College as
a day pupil. He remembers fondly of the train
service boarding at Woodend and arriving at
Rupertswood.
