   Challenges:
There were numerous challenges with this project that we had to overcome, namely:
• Communicating/managing interviews
across 3 time-zones (US/UK/Japan)
• Highly bespoke requirement for the
candidates which included a niche combination of skills and experience as well as the candidates being Japanese fluency and have a willingness to travel and spend 50% of the year in Japan
• Our client changed their financing to Massachusetts(US) based payments which raised potential tax-questions for the contractors who don’t like associated tax risk/investigations. We investigated and resolved potential issues.
Success
We travelled to our client’s Bedford
site fortnightly to meet with the 4 key stakeholders as well as seeing EVERY contractor on site. This ensured that there were no problems as well as reassuring the contractors. Consequently, no contractors resigned despite it being a very tough environment and project to complete. Similarly, any client issues and concerns were quickly addressed and resolved.
Our client had a demanding criteria for success and wouldn’t tolerate any failure nor
offer any second chances. We built credibility from our first 5 placements as our client liked all 5 candidates and interviewed everyone we subsequently recommended.
For this project, we adopted a highly proactive methodology as after the initial
5 placements we networked ALL SAP candidates with medical device experience. We found out when they’d be available over coming year so we could prioritise shortlisted candidates for our client. As we knew
the availability of the candidates for every phase of the project this helped to
reduce timescales between interviews
and appointment.
