          Centre for Advance Research on Global change

              On 17 March 2017, the Law and Policy of Sustainable Development Research Center
              (LPSD) had a great opportunity to receive the representatives from Centre for
              Advance research on Global change (CARGC) within the range of LPSD’s
              comprehensive partnership building to support severely affected communities by
              environmental pollution.

                          ARGC is a public service unit under management of Hanoi University of Natural
                          Resources and Environment (HUNRE) and established under Decision
                          No.188/QĐ-TĐHHN on 27 January 2015 with a mission to research and advise the
             director board in national and international scientific projects, also simultaneously provide
             public services in education, science and technology on a global change field.  The
             representatives of the two centers has positively discussed and shared about the works and
             experiences in different sectors such as: training, research, community support and legal
             advocacy.
                  According to Mr. Dang Dinh Bach, LPSD’s executive director, the center always tries to
             accompany with local communities affected by pollution with maximum effort. However,
             legal supports will be less effective if there is no presence of environmental and medical
             experts in specialized activities such as analysis, monitoring, implementing protective
             measures and so on. LPSD always welcomes and would like to receive more advice and
             support from scientists, especially from Ha Noi University of Natural Resources and
             Environment.
                  According to Dr. Nguyen Thuc Anh, Vice-Director of CARGC, who has spent many years
             working in geology-environment and education fields, the Department of Geology in specific
             and HUNRE in general always encourages students and lecturers participating in public
             benefit and pollution prevention projects as well as research. Thus, understanding the
             concerning of LPSD, Dr. Thuc Anh and experts in the Department and CARGC will positively
             support in terms of knowledge as well as advice for the future activities of LPSD.
             Furthermore, LPSD’s personnel will also be invited to join scientific conferences and
             workshops to raise personal capacity for technical group, aiming to better serve the
             community.
