 CAUCUS FOUNDATION GRANT AWARD RECIPIENTS
Myra Aquino, UCLA “Beauty Queen”
Myra is a writer-director who was raised both in Guam and in the Philippines. Having grown up in the midst of clashing beliefs and cultures, she’s interested in telling stories-- comedic and otherwise-- that explore complex moral dilemmas, and the impacts of multiculturalism and globalization on underrepresented communities. Her work has been supported by the Delia Salvi Memorial Award, UCLA Foreign Language and Area Studies Fellowship, MPAA, Sony Streisand Fellowship, and the Norris Fellowship. Prior to graduating from UCLA’s MFA Directing program, Myra received her MD and public health degree from the University of Miami.
  Kathryn Boyd-Batstone, USC “For Rosa”
Kathryn is a director and cinematographer of narrative and non-narrative work in the Los Angeles area. She is currently a Snapchat and Social Video Producer for Mitú as well as USC School of Cinematic Arts MFA candidate pursuing a master’s degree in cinematography and directing. She most recently was a 2019 ASC Student Heritage Award Finalist for her cinematography on the documentary God Bless the Cook. Her latest documentary Deaf Latinos y Familias played at Seattle Deaf Film Festival, New Filmmakers Film Festival and Oaxaca Film Festival. Her work as a photojournalist has been published in CNN, The San Francisco Chronicle, National Public Radio, The Washington Post, USA Today. Kathryn studied photojournalism at the University of Oregon and was a News21 Fellow.
