In the span of a month,
Gore earned recognition on ve Great Place to Work® lists, ranking among the best workplaces in France, Germany, Italy, Sweden and the United States.
The awards streak kicked off in late February with the Italian list, on which Gore ranked #6 among medium- sized workplaces. The U.S. rankings followed in early March, with Gore in the #12 spot. Later in March, it was time for Gore’s German and Swedish locations
to celebrate—with both taking home high honors on the same night, ranking #4 and #2 on their respective lists. Gore France rounded out the busy month, earning the #7 spot on the French list.
“This recognition is a testament to the vision and the lasting impact of Bill and Vieve, who created a work environment where innovation and creativity thrive,” says Terri Kelly, Paper Mill West. “We invest continued energy into nurturing this company culture, which has played a key role in engaging us and driving our business results for nearly 60 years. It’s one of our greatest competitive advantages.”
For each list, companies participate in a selection process that includes an employee survey and an in-depth questionnaire about their programs and company practices. The Great Place to Work® Institute then evaluates each application based on ve dimensions: credibility, respect, fairness, pride and camaraderie.
“This recognition is a testament to the vision and the lasting impact of Bill and Vieve, who created a work environment where innovation and creativity thrive,” says Terri Kelly.

GORE MAKES A DIFFERENCE
FOR INFANT HEART PATIENTS
Gore’s medical technology recently earned recognition in the news for helping to heal two infant heart patients. The stories occurred 5,000 miles apart and were published this February in Scotland’s The Herald newspaper and in California’s The Orange County Register.
The articles and accompanying photos offer a glimpse into the patients behind the products, showing 15-month-old Brooke Docherty clutching a stuffed animal and smiling widely after overcoming severe heart defects, and 5-month- old Noah Connally playfully interacting with his mother, an oxygen tube secured to his face. The below excerpts tell part of their stories.
From The Herald: “Brave Brooke Docherty was given just 30 minutes to live when she was nine days old—after she was born with six major heart defects. ...The tot was airlifted 200 miles for a risky 12-hour operation, which went ahead when she was only 11 days old. Her heart was only the size of a walnut....and had to be stopped
as surgeons battled to correct the deformities, including closing two large holes and repairing her short aortic arch with a GORE-TEX® [vascular graft].”
From The Orange County Register: “Noah Connally was only 24 days old when his parents tearfully sat by his bedside saying their goodbyes. ...Noah has a condition called hypoplastic left heart syndrome, a complex, rare congenital heart defect that leaves the left side of the heart critically underdeveloped. ...Dr. Francis Kim, cardiac intensive care doctor, says only about 0.1 percent of individuals have the condition, which until about 25 years ago was ‘universally fatal.’ ‘Now, with advancements in medicine, we have developed a way to x these hearts,’ Kim said. Children with hypoplastic left heart syndrome undergo three surgeries. The rst, the one Noah underwent when he was seven days old, converts the heart from a two-ventricle to a one-ventricle system, facilitating blood ow to the lungs using a GORE-TEX® [vascular graft].”
