                                    34                               42
                                      When the great over- Paradise.   They will ask you
                                  whelming event arrives,  35 on [Prophet] about the Hour, saying,
                                  the Day that man remembers ‘When it will come to pass?’,
                                                 36
                                  what he strove for  and Hell is  43  what have you to do with the
                                  there for all to see,  37  anyone mentioning of it?  44  Your Lord
                                                       38
                                  who has acted arrogantly  and alone knows when it will come;
                                  prefers the life of this world,  45  you are but a warner for those
                                  39                   40             46
                                    will find himself in Hell;  but who fear it.  On the Day when
                                  one who fears to stand before his they see it, they will feel as if
                                  Lord and restrained himself from they had tarried in this world for
                                  base desires,  41  shall dwell in only one evening or one morning.


                                           80.  HE  FROWNED       (‘ABASA)

                                      In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

                                    He frowned and turned away  Let him who will, pay heed to
                                  2                            13
                                   when the blind man approached it.  It is set down on honoured
                                      3
                                  him,  for how can you know that pages,  14  exalted and purified,
                                  he might seek to purify himself,  15  by the hands of scribes,
                                  4                          16                 17
                                    or take heed and derive benefit  exalted and purified.  Woe
                                  from [Our] warning?  5 As for to man! How ungrateful he is!

                                  him who was indifferent, you  18  Of what [stuff] has He created
                                                                 19
                                  eagerly attended to him— him?  Out of a drop of sperm!

                                   though you are not to be blamed He creates and proportions him,
                                  if he would not purify himself—  20  He makes his path easy for
                                  8                              21
                                    but as for one who comes to him.  Then He causes him to
                                            9
                                                                           22
                                  you, eagerly  and in awe of God die and be buried.  Then when
                                  10                11
                                    you pay him no heed.  Indeed, He pleases, He will bring him
                                                                       23
                                  this [Quran] is an admonition. back to life.  Yet man declines
