P. 2
What are the requirements to enroll in
the DNP program?
Applicants must have an active and unencumbered U.S. RN license. If you
were educated outside of the U.S. and do not hold a U.S. RN license, you
must submit a Validation of Licensure Report that shows evidence that you
are legally authorized to practice as a professional nurse in the geographical
area in which you work. The University also requires official transcripts from
each post-secondary institution attended. Applicants educated outside of the
U.S. should speak with an admissions advisor to learn how to obtain an
academic report.
Based on the DNP specialization that you choose, you will also need to meet
these qualifications:
Educational leadership specialization: A minimum of one year of full-time
work experience in a leadership or faculty role in nursing education at a 2-4
year college/university, hospital, or healthcare organization within the past 5
years.
Executive or Informatics leadership specialization: A minimum of one
year of full-time work experience in an informatics or technology-based
nursing leadership role within the last 5 years.
Professional leadership specialization: A minimum of one year of
experience in one of the following areas: faculty role, hospital
management/leadership, advanced practice nurse (NP), clinical nurse
leader (CNL), clinical nurse specialist (CNS) during the last 5 years.
