Wellbeing ways
C OMMUNITIES in North East Derbyshire are being urged to get talking about ‘Five Ways to Wellbeing’, set out by
Derbyshire County Council.
The pointers are simple things that people can do every day to help boost their mood and improve day to day wellbeing. They are connect, be active, take notice, keep learning and give.
To help spread the word, the council’s public health team have developed an information pack full of resources including posters, leaflets, a short video and the loan of pull up banners.
They’re offering the resource kits to local community and voluntary groups.
Cabinet Member for health and wellbeing, Coun Carol Hart, said: “Emotional health and wellbeing is really important and we want to help local communities to spread the word.
“The Five Ways to Wellbeing are easy to carry out and don’t have to cost a penny.”
Groups might want to use the resource kits to hold an event in a local venue or join in with an existing event, club or group.
In addition, successful groups will receive a one-off grant of £100 that can be used, in conjunction with the resource packs, to develop, or support, community events to promote the initiative.
This funding can be used to pay for things such as volunteer travel and time, venue hire, advertising, refreshments, printing, prize draw items and more.
The closing date for applications for a resource kit is 9th July. Applications will be considered on a first come, first served, basis. You can download an application form, and find out more at derbyshire.gov.uk/wellbeing
