Children from the Just Dancing Studio, aged three to 11, which meets at Wingerworth Church Centre, on Saturdays from 1-3.30pm, entertained in the main arena, whilst Inspirations Theatre Company captivated an audience near the cricket pavilion. They teach young people aged seven to adulthood dance, singing and drama at St Thomas Church Centre, on Tuesdays from 6.30pm for children aged 6 to 14, and Thursdays from 7pm for seniors.
Residents were invited to take part in free tennis or fishing, and there was a tug-of-war competition.
Entertainment also included a country and western band, steel band, helter-skelter, rescued donkeys, and various sideshows and stalls including one manned by staff from the Wingerworth Medical Centre where people could receive a free blood pressure test and advice on protection from the sun... perfect for the weather!
