Sports Relief
A SHOVER Primary School helped to raise money for Sports Relief by
taking part in a sponsored Obstacle Course Fun Run. They completed several
circuits of the obstacle course on the school playground and raised £300. Well done to all of you for taking part.
Westwood Farm Visits
P UPILS in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 have all enjoyed visiting
Westwood Farm this term. This has linked well to their
learning topic of ‘Farm to Fork’.
They have engaged in several activities including feeding the lambs, handling the chicks, collecting eggs and riding on the back of the tractor trailer.
School’s May Day royalty
ASHOVER village hosted a May Day Carnival again this year. Many pupils from the school joined in with the festivities.
Children made Gem Jars which Friends of the School sold to raise money and the choir performed on the stage and in the church.
Many children took part in the one- mile Fun Run where entry monies went towards the ‘Malaria No More’ charity.
The May Day King, Tom Forster and Queen, Alice Evans, are photographed with their attendants. Don’t they look smart?
Fruit Kebabs
YEARS 1 and 2 pupils have been learning about where several foods come from and how they grow.
They enjoyed making fruit kebabs with some of the fruits that they learnt about. They particularly enjoyed eating them!
Post-SATs party
T HE school’s Year 6 and
Year 2 pupils have undertaken their Statutory Assessment Tests this term.
The teachers
have prepared
them well and
the children
have shown diligence and resilience to ensure that they achieve their best. They have been rewarded by having a ‘post-SATs party’ in their classroom.
