Tina Mullen, Director of the UF Shands Arts in Medicine
is the 2017 Quickdraw Judge
Gainesville, FL Tina Mullen is an artist living in Gainesville, Florida. She is the Director of UF Health
Shands Arts in Medicine. Her work at the hospital over that past 25 years includes managing a team of 18 artists in residence, purchasing art for the corporate collection and directing the interior design phase of new construction and renovation. She spe- cializes in program advancement and the integration of the arts in to the cultural of healthcare.
Tina has been a drawing instructor at Santa Fe Community College and the Universi- ty of Florida, as well as Interim Director of the University Galleries at UF. Tina is also a working artist who has exhibited her work throughout the United States. She has re- ceived numerous awards including the Indi- vidual Artist Fellowship from the Florida De- partment of Cultural Affairs. She has been a visiting artist at Penland School of Crafts in North Carolina, the Ringling School of Art in Sarasota, Florida and the Ucross Founda- tion in Wyoming.
“I have painted and drawn pictures my entire life. I believe that the arts are a vehicle for transformation and personal expression, and my passion is to help others bring art into their lives in meaningful ways.”
