TOP 10 THINGS WE'LL MISS ABOUT LIFE AT 261 HEMLOCK HILLS
1. One thing we will miss is the style of the home and the space. This house fits
my family and our needs. With four children, we each have a space and enjoy it
immensely. We have lived in a lot of different style homes (and states) and this is by
far our favorite.
2. Our property has been enjoyed by all and meets the many needs of each family
member. With four children they each have different areas they enjoy. They have spent
many hours wandering and exploring the surrounding wooded areas. I love gardening
so I’ve enjoyed taking care of the many different plants and flowers, and recently my
husband built me a vegetable garden and have enjoyed putting that together. My
husband loves maintaining & mowing the lawn. If you aren’t into that, there are amazing
landscaping companies that service the neighborhood and we’d be happy to share their
contact information with you.
3.We also enjoy the kitchen and dining space. My husband is an amazing cook. Well into
the fall, we have huge family dinners on the deck each Sunday. Each kid gets to choose
the next family dinner each week. During the Pandemic we have eaten so many different
styles and genres of food! Great space for entertaining, dining etc.
4.The backyard is amazing and we will miss evenings around the firepit, talking and of
course roasting s’mores. Our dog also loves the yard as she loves to play frisbee and run
with her humans.
5. The yard beyond the fence is amazing for football games, badminton tournaments
before family dinner on Sunday, or any other gathering the kids might have in mind.
Put a spotlight out there and they can play all night. The basketball hoop is a big draw
as well.
6. The family room is where we spend most of our time in the winter. The fire place
is the main focus of this room and we use it just about every night. The fires cast a
beautiful glow and keep us all warm as we watch out favorite shows!
7. The window seat in the main living room is a big draw for my family as well as my
dog Marley. She loves to lay up there and stare out at the animals, eat her snacks
and chill while the family is around. My kids also love it to relax, read books, watch
TV, take a nap!
8. We love the neighborhood! It's very family oriented and we keep each other
connected via annual chili cook offs, gardening parties, book clubs, Christmas
cookie swaps and wreath making etc. We all let each other know if there is
something happening in the neighborhood or around town for that matter. Our
neighborhood consists of many different families that are interconnected in so many
ways to the community.
9. The deck is amazing. So much space to dine, relax, barbeque! I have lots of pots
with herbs and flowers so I can pop right out and cut a sprig of rosemary, basil or mint!
My kids absolutely love to eat out on the deck in the cool night air as often as possible!
10. The basement is incredibly spacious. It can be used as an in- law or college kid
suite. There is a full bathroom so that makes it very private. In the meantime any teenage
boy would love it as his personal man cave! The storage in the basement is incredible. In
addition, the basement has an inside work bench area for anyone that likes to tinker in the
comfort of cold or warm air depending on when you need it!
