An Interview with...
THE PROUD HOMEOWNERS OF
261 HEMLOCK HILLS ROAD SOUTH
Q: WHAT MADE YOU FALL IN LOVE WITH THIS HOME?
A: We fell in love with the style of the home, the expansive 3.44 acres and the amazing
fireplace in the family room. This home fit our busy family of 6 perfectly.
Q: PLEASE DESCRIBE THE RENOVATION PROCESS.
A: We have replaced the basement floors, as well as pulled up carpet in the Family room and
refinished those wood floors. We have refreshed and painted almost every room in the
house. Because we love to work in the yard, we have done a ton of landscaping. ...removed
trees and brush so that you can enjoy and see the forest beyond the fence. This also
provides a better growing environment for the trees.
Q: WHY ARE YOU MOVING?
A: As my children get older, go to and graduate college, come back and embark out on their
own, we don’t need as much space. We LOVE this house but just need to downsize at this
point in our lives.
Q: WILL YOU MISS THE NEIGHBORS/NEIGHBORHOOD?
A: Absolutely! This is a family/community oriented neighborhood with annual chili cook
offs, Hemlock Harvesters gardening club, kids riding bikes, walking dogs etc. We all keep
everyone informed of any goings- on in the neighborhood! Love it!
Q: TELL ME ABOUT THE GROUNDS.
A: Our property is amazing! We love the privacy the property offers us and appreciate
the expansive lawn. We have tons of wildlife throughout the months of the year: a wide
variety of birds, deer, fox, and occasionally turkeys. My husband recently built me a
garden which I have enjoyed putting together and experimenting with different types of
plants. Will definitely miss that but look forward to another avid gardener enjoying the
space. The thing that makes our yard so special is the different areas about it. The lawn, the
expansive backyard, the garden, the creek. We have it all. Our family has enjoyed pulling on
our boots and taking walks in the woods...there’s always something to see or explore!
Q: DID YOU EVER CONSIDER PUTTING IN A POOL?
A: We actually did not because we have a boat and are usually on Candlewood Lake every weekend and
sometimes during the week!
