The house was built in 1952 by Judge William O. Keene, a partner in the law firm of Keene & Lyons
in North Main Street as a three-bedroom, two and a half bath colonial. They lived here for 47 years
prior to our purchase in 1999 from her widow, Susan Keene. After our purchase, we did extensive
renovations- installing central air conditioning, removing a buried oil tank while adding a fuel-
efficient boiler, new hardwood floors, adding walk-in closets, expanding the main bathroom, a
family room, a rooftop patio, and an office.
With the expansion of the backyard, new landscaping and irrigation system, and landscape lighting
were also added. In 2007, we built above the garage adding two new rooms, a third full bathroom,
and a laundry room bringing the total square footage from 2,016 to a little under 4,000 square feet.
Also added was a pergola with a motorized shade as a protection from the elements during the
spring and summer months.
