AN INTERVIEW WITH PROUD HOMEOWNERS
KRISTEN AND GEOFF SHAFER
PLEASE DESCRIBE THE RENOVATION PROCESS...
Home was fully renovated in 2016 and taken down to the studs, elevated and put on
a new fema-compliant foundation (helical piles 33' underground), everything in the
home was renovated - all utilities, roof, siding, windows and doors, kitchen, 3 bathrooms,
electrical, ceilings/walls new drywall, painted, etc. etc. - nothing was left undone (we kept
the original hardwood flooring, that was about it!)
WHY ARE YOU MOVING?
Starting to outgrow the space with 2 young, growing, energetic children! It is bittersweet
because we have loved living here. The neighborhood is great and we will miss the
neighbors! There is a wonderful group of people in the neighborhood who are very kind and
caring - truly a special place.
TELL ME ABOUT THE GROUNDS...
Meadow & marsh views in back/side, and Long Island Sound views in front! A charming
and easy to manage yard. We love sitting out on the deck and listening to the birds in the
morning with a cup of coffee.
WHAT MADE YOU FALL IN LOVE WITH THE PROPERTY?
The views and the location which is a stone's throw from the beach, and a quick walk
to golf and tennis! Marsh trails at the end of the street for scenic walks. We love evening
strolls to the beach while the sun is setting after a long day at work. Gorgeous sunsets from
the beach and from the 3rd floor master suite!
