The Chaplain Committee is providing for your Lenten usage weekly meditation scriptures and cumulative fasting
ideas.
Lent is an annual Christian observance of 40 days that precedes Easter. It begins on Ash Wednesday and is a period
to remember when Jesus went into the wilderness and fasted for 40 days. It is a time of fasting, repentance,
prayer, and self-control. This year Lent is observed March 6- April 18.
And He said to them, “Because of the littleness of your faith; for truly I say to you, if you have faith the
size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and
nothing will be impossible to you. “But this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.”
