shall these things be? And what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end
of the world?’ And Jesus answered and said unto them, ‘Take heed that no man
deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ, and shall
deceive many. And ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that ye be not

troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For
nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there shall
be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes in diverse places. All these are the
beginning of sorrows. Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall
kill you, and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake. And then shall
many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.
And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. And because
iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall endure
unto the end, the same shall be saved. And this Gospel of the Kingdom shall be
preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations, and then shall the end
                       come. (Matthew 24:1 − 14)

For it is also written in the book of Colossians:

For I would that ye knew what great conflict I have for you, and for them at
Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh; That their
hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of
the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of
God, and of the Father, and of Christ; In whom are hid all the treasures of
wisdom and knowledge. And this I say, lest any man should beguile you with
enticing words. For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the
spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the steadfastness of your faith in
Christ. As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in Him,
Rooted and built up in Him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught,
abounding therein with thanksgiving. Beware lest any man spoil you through
philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the
world, and not after Christ. For in Him dwelleth all the fullness’ of the
Godhead bodily; and ye are complete in Him, which is the head of all
                       principality and power. (Colossians 2:1−10)

In the Gospel of Matthew it is written that:

When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples,
saying, ‘Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?’ And they said, ‘Some
say that thou art John the Baptist, some, Elias, and others, Jeremias, or one of
the prophets.’ He saith unto them, ‘But whom say ye that I am?’ And Simon
Peter answered and said, ‘Thou “art the Christ” the Son of the living God.’ And
Jesus answered and said unto him, ‘Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh
