Jayla Koriyan's life is built around fashion,
beauty, creativity and social media. She was
raised by a registered nurse and a robbery
detective. Although her passion for fashion and
creativity was not approved by her parents, she
started a Youtube channel secretly
(Glamaholic54). After her mother found about her
channel, she was sent to Manhattan, New York to
a summer programme at LIM where she explored
visual merchandising, public relations etc.
Due to fear she did not apply to The Fashion
Institute of Technology (FIT) and went to another
school in her hometown, North Carolina. However
she maintained an above average GPA and in 2015
she got an opportunity to study at FIT. As a result of
this, she got a taste of the New York life.
By the summer of 2016 she published her first
book, 'Pretty and Educated' then wrote another
entitled 'Pretty and Paid'. She also launched a hair
extension company, Glam Textures and expanded
her fan base to over 300,000.
