Beer & wine service - by the glass
Bottled beers will be opened at the bar and served with a cold beer
glass. Glasses of wine will be poured at the bar. Drinks ordered at
the bar will be served over the bar for the guest to take to their table.
Drinks ordered at the ‘cownter’ will be delivered to the guests table.
• All bottled beers will be opened at the bar. All glasses of wine will
be poured at the bar.
• Beers will be served with a cold beer glass. If being delivered to
the table, beers will be poured at the table in front of the guest.
The beer should be poured into the glass leaving a one to two
centimetre head.
• The empty bottle should be removed from the table and disposed
of immediately. If there is beer remaining in the bottle (or the guest
requests to pour their own) the bottle should be left on the table,
with the label facing the guest. If the guest does not want a beer
glass, the clean glass should be returned to the bar.
• The name of the beer or wine should always be announced correctly
as it is being presented to the guest at the table.
• At no stage should there be empty bottles or glasses on the table.
• When carrying glassware to a table without using a drink tray,
glassware must be handled correctly.
HANDLING GLASSWARE
When serving drinks and when clearing glassware only ever handle the
glass on the bottom 1/3 area. Never put your fingers in dirty glasses to
clear them.
It’s gross.
Don’t do it. Ever. Like ever.
This area
is for the
guest.
This area
is for
