Mair Sierra is a full time feminist and suburban illustrator from Northern New Jersey. She is traditionally trained in Fine Arts with a strong focus in Illustration and Comics. In the past year, she has worked alongside No Shame Distribution and contributed flyers for local shows in Jersey. During her childhood, she has seen minimal relateable characters in the comic world. The criticism she’s received for drawing “feminine” pieces or “drawing like a girl” has only strengthened her drawing style and push to create better, eye capturing artwork. Her goal as a POC in the punk
scene is to create weird, dreamy, charming, realistic work influenced by her experiences and her surroundings she’s
been engulfed in. This is what makes her work versatile and personal to the viewer. Mair stands tall at 5’4.5”,
pursuing an endeavor to fit her personal style into the male dominated comic world.
