Later, after McEwen and his wife divorced and she went back to Amer- ica, Vukutu was sold to stockbroker Bill Burdett-Coutts and became Vukutu Gallery, set up at the Burdett-Coutts’ home in the Harare suburb of Milton Park. John Takawira remained there until he died in 1989.
