Newcomer to the MICE market, Vayeni’s Luke Brown makes the case for promotion of the destination as an exclusive boardroom incentive option
Following two years specialising in the leisure market, Vayeni tapped in to the growing demand for premium group events almost by accident – but the experience reflects the
strong potential of the MICE market that requires expertise and destination knowledge to deliver memorable events.
According to managing director, Luke Brown, the company has now developed a strong understanding of what is required to look after group needs, and recently added an event management specialist to the team.
“Our team has worked on both meetings and incentives, with clients including the Dutch Embassy in Harare, Roche Pharmaceuticals and Going Africa, as well as individuals such as an American couple living in Argentina, who chose Vayeni to arrange their wedding in Zimbabwe, organising all pre- and post functions between Victoria Falls and Kariba,” he said.
With the new government focus on promotion of Zimbabwe as a MICE destination, Brown stressed that, with the exception of Victoria Falls, the current tourism infrastructure lent itself
