Gonarezhou
Accommodation: Lodge or camp style accommodation in one of Zimbabwe’s most pristine wildlife parks. Locations are breathtaking and service excellent. Can cater in excess of 30 people.
Activities: Varied landscape, bush and wildlife enable a different game drive or walk every day.
Access: A six-hour drive from Harare or Bulawayo, and three hours from Great Zimbabwe. Bush strips in the park are available and flight time from either Harare and Bulawayo is around 90 minutes.
Wow factors: A guided game drive to Chilojo Cliffs provides a spell binding spectacle.
Eastern Highlands
Accommodation: Boutique style located in picturesque settings among the mountain ranges at Nyanga and Vumba. Some hotels here can cater for numbers in excess of 40 persons.
Activities: Hiking, scenic drives, horse-riding, golf (highly recommended), trout fishing
Access: Three hours by road from Harare.
Wow factors: Leopard Rock Championship Golf Course in Vumba and World’s View in Nyanga – two special places that should be on the bucket list of anyone visiting Zimbabwe.
Kariba (Matusadona)
Accommodation: Boutique style hotels or intimate camps catering for up to 40 people. All with excellent locations and views of the lake, surrounded by rich wildlife.
Activities: Activities are more diverse than other safari areas because of the lake. As well as game drives and walks, boat cruises, fishing, sailing and house boating are all extremely popular.
Access: Kariba town is a five-hour drive from Harare followed by a speed boat transfer of up to two hours to the camps and lodges. Air Zimbabwe also flies into Kariba airport, while airstrips adjacent to the camps can be accessed by light aircraft.
Wow factors: Stunning sunsets followed by a beach dinners under the stars.
