Where the Chobe River’s flow slows down and
enters the mighty Zambezi River, lies one of
Africa’s gems – The Chobe National Park. Here
one finds incredible opportunity to explore Africa’s wildlife
in all its glory. Viable populations of keystone species like
elephant and lion are in abundance on the Chobe’s River
course. Here, arguably, lies Botswana’s most attractive and
popular destination for MICE groups. There are some 500
usable rooms in this stunning part of the country and it is
a mere 90 minutes’ drive away to the Victoria Falls. This
powerful combination of world class destinations for both
wildlife viewing and adventure make it a powerful duo.
There is an enormous trend for this as Victoria Falls
is such a strong drawcard. Combined with the Chobe,
one finds oneself with a variety of options for conference
facilities and activities for incentives. Further south, lies
the World Heritage listed Okavango Delta. The main
portal to the Okavango is through Maun which itself
boasts excellent conferencing facilities which can cater to
larger groups. Maun Lodge and the Cresta Hotels each
provide excellent accommodation set in beautiful gardens.
The lodges and camps in the Okavango, however, are
limited to small groups accommodating on average sixteen
to twenty people at a time.
