and a prosthesis

Put a prosthesis step by step

Leg prostheses replace a member or replace a joint that doesn’t work. It must be adapted for
each person. Also, it exists for each case one solution. It depends at the same time on the
problem gravity and on the general patient’s health.

After an amputation, a temporary prosthesis is given to patients to make him walk again. The
prosthesis is generally made of plaster or resin.

Two month later, patients will have their final prosthesis which are called “classic” prosthesis
or “contact” prosthesis. The classic one is made for persons who have vascular problems
thanks to the socket which is larger and can make the blood circulate easier. It is attached
with a belt. The second prosthesis is, in general, used for young people who are more sporty
than other people.
