FROM THE
VICE PRESIDENT
Hello to all Sky Soldiers, hope- fully this winter issue of the magazine finds everyone better today than they were the day before. Where did the year 2020 go? Time seems to be passing by faster than ever before. As I am writing this article, I find it hard to believe that four years have passed since I departed the 173rd IBCT (Airborne) in Vicenza, Italy and nearly 18 years since we arrived in Iraq. Time does fly, and if nothing else, 2020 taught us to appreciate family and friends more than ever.
My grandfather immigrated from Italy, he used to say, “sei un uomo fortunato se puoi contare I tuoi amici in una mano” transla- tion, “you are a lucky man if you can count all your friends on one hand” Well, I must be a lucky man because the “Herd” has given me many friends. The 2022 Reunion is being held in Arizona, I encour- age all Sky Soldiers to take the opportunity and enjoy a week with friends, comrades, and the coolest Sky Soldiers on the planet, Air- borne!
I would like to take this oppor- tunity to say ‘thank you” to Mike Cunningham for his time as the Association Secretary, Mike re- cently resigned due to competing priorities. I would also like to
take this time to welcome Eldon Meade as the new Secretary, I look forward to working with you as we
forge ahead with the Association’s
business.
