So I drive to town, drop off my visa and go to Butter is Better, our other favorite breakfast restaurant for a snack. When I get there they tell me they've run out of food! That has never happened before and it takes me awhile to grasp that I couldn't get granola, fruit and yogurt, the meal I'd pictured on the way over. So I drive back out of town and go to Danisa's for a falafel wrap and latte. To be clear, I love Thai food and eat it all the time, I just wasn't in the mood this particular day. I'd thought about calling my old bridge partner to see if he wanted lunch, but then I realized he never calls me so screw it. Then I realized I'd broken up our partnership because I'd felt we were in a rut, so he could be a bit bitter. I would be if I were him but then, being a wonderfully forgiving guy, I would call. Yeah, right.
Instead, I eat and watch a video about Marshawn Lynch, a football player who grew up in the projects in Oakland and is known as "Beast Mode". If you want to picture my all-time exact athletic opposite, Beast Mode would be the guy. He is big, fast, scary, and loves crashing into people. Enough said.
I'm now back home. Jintana and the kids should be home soon. I have no plans. If my back feels all right I might go hit some balls and work on my getting- the-bottom-of-the-swing-in-the-right-place techniques. I think that's the most dashes I've ever used in a sentence.
