Reminders
Limit the SUN, not the fun!
Wear a wide-brimmed hat and lip balm to protect your scalp, ears, face, and
neck.
Wear sunglasses to reduce sun exposure that can damage your eyes.
Limit time in the midday sun, 10am to 4pm, when the UV rays are strongest and
most damaging.
Cover UP with light & loose long sleeves and pants, if possible, to protect your
skin from sun burns & tans; tight weaves provide the most protection.
Take cover under a ramada, an umbrella, a shade tree, or find an indoor activity
such as a gym or library during peak UV hours.
Use sunscreen every day, even on cloudy days, as the sun’s rays can damage
your skin. Wear sunscreen with SPF 15 or higher.
Check the daily UV index at azdhs.gov/phs/sunwise to see how intense the sun is
on the day your going to be outside. The scale is from 1 to 10 with 10 being the
most intense.
