The artwork above is a painting I made to raise awareness regarding our ocean. As always, the first thing I did is sketch the proportions and main concept as seen below. On the canvas, I lightly drew the lines and adjusted the elements to the size of the canvas. I started with painting the waves, which is very fun to do - painting oceans and waves have no limitations, you can paint as freely as you want and the result will still look realistic! Added textures with white paint for the bubbles, then proceeded to paint the land and the girl. There were some noticeable changes from the sketch and the painting, especially in the left area - I decided to make the waves slightly higher, leaving no space left for the slogan on the upper part. Due to this changes, I relocated

the slogan and painted it way lower than I planned it to be. Surprisingly, it turned out more balanced in terms of propor- tions. Lastly, I glued down re- cyled straws from take outs to bring out the main goal of this painting, raise awareness re- garding plastic usage and its side effects to our ocean.
