Welcome to YEBW
At Young Entrepreneurs Business Week, you play an important part in our mission to educate the next generation of business leaders...
Students, thank you for embracing the chance to learn and grow this week. You are at the beginning of a life-changing opportunity.
Parents, thank you for investing in your children’s success. Business leaders, thank you for bringing our vision to life.
At YEBW, students experience what we call “the growth zone.” We introduce real-world business concepts, interactive competitions and hands-on challenges to build competency and confidence.
But it’s not all about business. It’s about developing professional skills and experience that apply to all occupations, such as leadership, teamwork, communication, networking, public speaking and more.
For some, YEBW is that lightbulb moment when they realize who they are and what they want to do in life. Through inspiring business seminars and role-play activities, many discover new interests, industries and career fields.
As the years go by, our commitment to grow the program only grows stronger. In the beginning, we were excited to have 26 students attend our first Business Week... Now, thanks to the support of the local business community, our reach has expanded within Oregon and beyond; we are now able to serve more students across the state and the country.
Today, 400+ students experience YEBW at one of our three college campuses: University of Portland, Oregon State University and University of Oregon. After attending our flagship program Business Week, many of our alumni return for Investing Week, Entrepreneur Week and Internship.
What makes our program truly impactful is that it’s led by real entrepreneurs, executives, educators and business professionals. More than 200 volunteers donate their time and talents. We are grateful for our committed volunteers—advisors, interns, speakers, judges and board members—who coach and mentor students throughout the week; their dedication makes YEBW one of the best business and entrepreneurship programs in the country.
Young Entrepreneurs Business Week is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that all young people should experience... Our mission partners make it possible for YEBW to reach the communities and schools that need this program the most.
Thank you to all of you who make this program a success this summer and in the coming years. Again, welcome to YEBW 2016!
Sincerely,
Jeff Gaus
