3. BEST PRACTICES: hair
1. Put on new hair & beard net before your lab coat / uniform. Uniform coat should be long sleeved to prevent exposing arm hair. Seen in picture is a one piece hair/beard net that has helped reduce the risk of hair.
2. Vacuum or lint roll your uniform before entering production areas. This will help remove lint, hair and debris that may be loose on clothing.
3. Practice the buddy check before entering production areas to ensure PPE is in good condition and is worn correctly.
4. Discard hair & beard net after each use.
5. Hold co-workers accountable – if you see improper PPE, call it out.
Note: Hair/beard net should be worn properly so it can prevent hair/beardandmustachefromfallingintothefood productionline.
Note: All hair cleaning tools should have a PM program to prevent introducing hair on uniforms.
