4. BEST PRACTICES: CARDBOARD AND PAPER
4A. Cutting Tools- Unilever has noticed that debris created by cutting tools - specifically the cutting of boxes, tape,
paper and liners - contribute to foreign material. Tools used to cut these materials should be evaluated to ensure the use of the most appropriate and effective cutting tool (knife, scissor, etc.) and reduce tears and debris.
Recommended Tape splitter-
This is the only allowed section of the splitter to be used to prevent tape’s debris when cutting.
Note: All cutting tools should not leave any tear or debris and should have a PM program. Ensuring the cutting edges are not dull will establish schedule for PM.
