5. Investigation Containment
• Investigation containment allows Unilever to understand the scope of impact resulting from a foreign material. Often, an E-incident results in finished goods being placed on quality hold. If a supplier can isolate a foreign material within the impacted lot (e.g. to a specific set of cases or pallets), it can assist in reducing (if not eliminating) the destruction of finished goods.
• Ensuring that all segregation activities - including cleaning, line inspection, and documentation of input materials - allows for traceability and containment.
