How to measure pallet is wrapped appropriately
It is important to determine the correct amount of containment force for specific loads and containment force should be treated as a critical specification for shipping those loads. Actual containment force can be measured with a CFT (container force tool) measurement tool.
THE FOLLOWING ARE RECOMMENDED CONTAINMENT FORCE AMOUNTS AS A STARTING POINT:
Measuring actual containment force:
• Confirm the recommended containment force is applied everywhere on the load.
• Don’t take your wrapping machine settings for granted. Use a containment force measuring tool (CFT) to measure the actual containment force of the film wrap. Use the CFT to measure containment force at the top, middle, and bottom of the load.
• The containment force doesn’t have to be the same, but each point must have at least the minimum containment force required for the load.
